Upper Elementary ( 9- 12yrs)

Students are encouraged to work in small group tasks. They are independent thinkers and are expanding their knowledge by exchanging ideas and working collaboratively in groups.

What they have learned in lower elementary are refined and greatly expanded to learn in more depth. They will be using the Montessori materials to work on the extended lessons to advance their knowledge.

Students are more independent and proficient. Upper elementary students will be moving from concrete to abstract. Students in Montessori are in a learning environment that empowers them to be in charge of what they want to learn. Studies are guided by the Montessori teachers. Students become creative thinkers and knowledge is acquired from research based studies.
